This Privacy Policy describes how JOHELMA collects, uses and protects the personal data of website users and of those who contact us. Personal data is processed in accordance with the applicable Angolan legislation, namely Law no. 22/11 of 17 June (Lei da Protecção de Dados Pessoais, the Personal Data Protection Act) and, as regards electronic communications and information society services, Law no. 23/11 of 20 June.
1.Data controller
The controller of personal data is JOHELMA - Serviços, Comércio e Indústria, Lda, with registered office at Rua Mortala Mohamed 46, Ilha do Cabo, Luanda, Angola. Tax number: 5401125984.
For any question relating to this policy or to the processing of your data, you may contact us at geral@johelma.com.
2.Data we collect
We collect only the data necessary for the purposes set out in this policy:
- Contact details you provide - through the contact form or by email: name, email address, company (optional), telephone (optional) and the content of your message.
- Technical operating data - information collected automatically by the server during your visit, such as the IP address, the type of device and browser and the pages requested. These records serve only to ensure the operation and security of the website.
- Usage measurement data - only if you give prior authorisation for analytics cookies do we collect, through Google Analytics, the pages visited, the duration and sequence of the visit, the type of device and browser, the source of the visit and an approximate location. This data does not identify you by name and is not combined with the data you send us through the form. Section 7 describes this point in detail.
3.Purposes and legal basis for processing
We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- To respond to your requests, messages and enquiries;
- To provide and manage the services requested;
- To comply with legal and regulatory obligations to which we are subject;
- To ensure the security and proper operation of the website;
- To understand, in aggregate form, how the website is used so that we may improve it, subject to your prior consent.
As a general rule, the processing of your personal data depends on your free, specific, informed and express consent. Outside that rule, JOHELMA processes data without consent only in the cases expressly permitted by law, namely where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or of pre-contractual steps requested by you, or for compliance with a legal obligation to which the company is subject.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
4.Sharing and processors
JOHELMA does not sell or transfer your personal data to third parties. Data may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf, always subject to confidentiality and security obligations and only to the extent necessary.
The providers involved in the operation of this website are the following:
- Amen (Portugal) - hosting of the website and its database.
- Brevo (France) - delivery of the email messages generated by the website, namely contact form submissions.
- Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC - the Google Analytics service, used only with your prior consent. JOHELMA has accepted Google's Data Processing Terms, which govern this processing relationship.
International data transfers: the website is hosted in Portugal and email delivery is carried out from France, so the data collected through this website is processed outside Angola. Portugal and France are European Union Member States, subject to the General Data Protection Regulation, a framework that ensures an adequate level of protection. Usage measurement data is processed by Google on infrastructure that includes servers located outside the European Economic Area, under the Data Processing Terms and the contractual clauses accompanying them.
5.Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, or for the period required by a legal obligation. After that period, the data is deleted or anonymised.
The record of your choice regarding analytics cookies is kept for 180 days, after which your authorisation will be requested again. As regards usage measurement data, JOHELMA has set the shortest periods available in Google Analytics: event data is retained for 2 months and data associated with the browser identifier for 14 months, after which it is deleted by Google. Aggregate reports, which do not allow individual visits to be identified, are not subject to these periods.
6.Your rights
Under the applicable law, you may exercise the following rights over your personal data:
- The right of access and information;
- The right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- The right to erasure;
- The right to object to processing;
- The right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at geral@johelma.com.
In the specific case of analytics cookies, you may change or withdraw your authorisation at any time, without contacting us, through the Cookie preferences button permanently available at the bottom of every page of the website.
7.Cookies and usage measurement
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. This website uses two categories of cookies, with different rules.
Necessary cookies
These are essential to the operation of the website and are used without requiring authorisation, as they do not serve to track or identify you. They include the cookie that stores your choice regarding analytics cookies, without which we would have to ask for your authorisation on every page, and technical cookies associated with the session and with contact form submission.
Analytics cookies, subject to your consent
We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate form, how the website is used: which pages are viewed, for how long, from what type of device and from what source. Its purpose is to improve the website, not advertising.
Nothing is collected before you give authorisation. When you arrive at the website for the first time, Google Analytics is disabled and no information is sent. Only after you click Accept on the notice that appears at the bottom of the screen are analytics cookies created and measurement started. If you click Decline, or simply ignore the notice and continue browsing, nothing is collected.
The cookies used by Google Analytics identify the browser, not the person. They are the _ga and _ga_ cookies followed by the property identifier, valid for up to two years.
To keep the information processed to a minimum, the service is configured as follows:
- Advertising and ad personalisation features are disabled. We do not advertise on the basis of this data, nor do we build profiles for that purpose.
- All data sharing options with Google for other purposes, including improvement of Google products and benchmarking, are disabled.
- Automatic data redaction is enabled: if an email address accidentally appears in a page address, it is removed by Google before being recorded.
- Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address. The address is used momentarily to derive an approximate location, at city level, and is not retained.
The data you enter in the contact form is not sent to Google Analytics. Your name, email, telephone number and message content are sent by email to JOHELMA and do not pass through the measurement service.
How to change your choice
The Cookie preferences button, at the bottom of any page, reopens the notice and allows you to change your mind at any time, either to authorise or to withdraw authorisation. You may also delete or block cookies in your browser settings, although this may affect how some websites work.
8.Security
JOHELMA adopts appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or improper disclosure. The website is served exclusively over an encrypted connection.
9.Complaints
Without prejudice to contacting us directly, if you consider that the processing of your data does not comply with the applicable legislation, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority for personal data protection.
10.Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated at any time. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the corresponding update date.
11.Contact
For any question relating to this Privacy Policy or to the processing of your personal data, please contact JOHELMA at geral@johelma.com or on +244 947 979 500.
