Who leads JOHELMA
José H. Manuel
Founder and CEO
José H. Manuel is the founder and CEO of JOHELMA. He brings more than 28 years of experience in information technology and telecommunications systems, with a career built in the oil industry at Chevron and work in multicultural environments across more than 15 countries - among them Angola, the Republic of the Congo, Germany, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States and South Africa.
For more than 13 years he led Information Technology at the Chevron Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit, with operations in Angola, the Republic of the Congo and Houston. He directed the Chevron Angola Digital Transformation Programme, served as Decision Executive on the rollout of the 4G/LTE network across offshore oil fields, and led the establishment of the ADONES and WACS submarine cables linking Angola to the wider world.
He trained in Electrical Engineering Technology in Germany and in Telecommunications in Algeria, and completed leadership and management programmes at Rice University in Houston, and programmes in IoT and business process design at MIT.
